The Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia provides a travelling fellowship to Europe on alternate years. The fellowship is supported by the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and Elbow. This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain a great life experience and learn from the premiere shoulder surgeons of Europe.

Clinical Duties
The Fellowship offers the opportunity to gain surgical experience and instruction in the management of disorders of the hand and upper limb.
The candidate will have a Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or have extensive clinical experience in orthopaedic surgery. Candidates from overseas will have qualification of equal standing.
The Fellow would perform clinical duties involved with the management of disorders of the hand and upper limb and would have a regular on call commitment at Modbury Public Hospital under the supervision of a hand surgeon. The Fellow would also assist the Hand and Upper Limb Surgeon in his private rooms and in private operating sessions, as well as attend regular academic meetings on disorders of the upper limb.
Research
The Fellow would be expected to perform clinical research throughout the twelve month attachment and would have specific time allocated for this. Research could be performed in conjunction with hand therapists. Research protocols have been established and prospective data has been collected for future projects. Modbury Hospital is a teaching hospital associated with the University of Adelaide. Computerised data retrieval is readily accessible and facilities for preparation and presentation of papers are available.

THE PRINCE OF WALES AND CONCORD HOSPITALS
SHOULDER & ELBOW FELLOWSHIP
The fellowship is
for 12 months duration and involves clinical, operative and research experience
in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. The fellowship is accredited by the Australian
Orthopaedic Association.
The fellowship is located in Sydney, Australia, at the Prince of Wales
Hospital in Randwick and Repatriation General Hospital in Concord. Some
training takes place in local private hospitals.
